Brandon Johnson Hosting Bio

Brandon Johnson has had a vibrant life in the world of TV hosting. His latest endeavor is TNT’s new reality competition show, 72 Hours; a show which drops 9 strangers into the most remote locations on the planet where they compete for a hidden briefcase filled with $100,000. Not more than one day being back in the U.S. he launched into work shopping NBC’s successful singing-show, The Winner Is, along side Producers Craig Plestis and Toby Gorman before handing the show over to Nick Lachey.

Brandon also stayed busy by making dreams come true while transforming outdoor spaces on HGTV’s, My Yard Goes Disney, a show that offered a once in a lifetime custom backyard makeover inspired by Disney. This opportunity was born from his Disney hit show, Shake It Up, where he played the character “Gary Wilde.”  Staying in the Disney family, he also hosted, Meet The Disney Legends.  The program honored the many individuals whose imagination and talents have created Disney magic.  With Brandon attached as host the ratings were tripled in the time slot.

Brandon also lent his talents to the incredibly successful infotainment show, Cool In Your Code. Shot entirely throughout all of New York’s boroughs. C.I.Y.C. was nominated for 19 NY Emmy Awards and won 4. Because of its spectrum the show has also been adapted in London.

Simultaneously he worked as the premiere host for OLN’s Rally America and on the FOX Soccer Channel’s, Fox Soccer USA. Attracted to speed and adrenaline, Brandon was excited to be a part of the fastest growing motor sport in America. Soon afterwards he booked Formula D for the G4 TV Network.  When not on the track he soon found himself behind the wheel of a different vehicle.  Once again HGTV ignited his love of adventure as the host of RV 2012 & RV 2013.  It’s important to know that the RV show is the highest rated special on the Network.  His contributions continued as the face of HGTV’s, Get Out, Way Out! The show transformed people’s backyards into destinations of bliss, function and entertainment. This also sparked opportunities to co-host HGTV’s, Consumer Electronics’ Show as well as the Homes and House wares special. In between shoots he found time to host 2 Reality Pilots for VH1: Perfect and Pretty Smart; plus another for TNT tilted The Great American Scavenger Hunt.

With over 20 years of drumming experience and involvement in the music business he also became a correspondent for The MySpace Music Feed on MySpace and Beta Records TV for affiliates of ABC.  There he interviewed up and coming artists and world-renowned musicians. As if Brandon‘s schedule wasn’t busy enough, he also shot over 100 episodes of USA’s, Character Fantasy. This exciting show built self-esteem and allowed people to live out their dreams.

Whether in character or playing himself, Brandon Johnson has proven his ability to adapt to almost any genre in the world of entertainment. The journey continues and he couldn’t be more excited.
